Orbs and water Elements

I so appreciate the way these age; this is a cement ball with a Gunnera leaf imprint and a hand carved Hypertufa base.

Cement can capture the smallest details, but is susceptible to cracking randomly in my observations.

  1. And so be it. I'm a follower now. That is something I'm learning at all points these days. This is a beautiful and insightful site and I see you are creativly in critical condition. Things are forming for you and this is so good to see. This medium is new to me so it affords me a chance to gain some knowledge on another level. Thank you.

  2. You've created such a lovely piece with it's visiting spider. Could you share how you imprinted the leaf on the concrete? I've done hypertufa spheres but find it doesn't pick up the detail very well. I work with concrete but have never done a sphere. I love seeing unique creations.......well done and many thanks. irena

  3. I want to make a concrete orb with leaf imprints all over it and then stain it to make the leaf shapes show up. How can you press leaves into the semi-dry concrete mix if it's curing inside a glass or rubber ball? I have never worked with concrete or hypertufa, so any guidance is appreciate!
